I’ve been hunting the backcountry for over thirty years, and I’ve never owned a knife quite like the 14-inch J2 Steel Bowie I picked up from HM Knives. I was skeptical about ordering handmade sight unseen, but this thing is the real deal. The full-tang construction handles everything from quartering elk to camp chores, and the edge holds up through multiple field dressing sessions before it needs attention. The brass guard and wenge wood handle give it a classic feel, but the performance is what sold me. Shipping took about two and a half weeks, which I expected given the distance, but the packaging was solid and the knife arrived razor-sharp.

A Stunning Piece for the Collection

I’m a collector of handmade blades, and I had been eyeing the Damascus Bowie knives on HM Knives for a while. I finally pulled the trigger on the 13-inch model, and I was blown away when it arrived. The Damascus pattern is absolutely gorgeous, with subtle variations you just don’t get from mass-produced stuff. I bought it primarily for display, but I’ve taken it out to my ranch a couple of times and it performs beautifully. It’s incredibly sharp out of the box and feels perfectly balanced in the hand. I will say the shipping took a little longer than I’d hoped, but the craftsmanship more than makes up for it.

Solid Camp Knife with Great Value

I needed a reliable camp knife for my backpacking trips, and the drop-point J2 camp knife seemed like a good bet. It’s exactly what I needed. The blade is about 5 inches, full-tang, and I’ve used it for everything from meal prep to feather sticking without any issues. I was able to get it shaving sharp on my whetstone without any trouble, which is always a plus. I wish the delivery had been a bit quicker — almost three weeks — but customer service was responsive and kept me updated on the status of my order. For the price point, this is a fantastic knife.

What We Would Rather You Judge Us On
Reviews are useful, and specifications you can check are more useful. Our blades are forged from 1095 and 1043/15N20 carbon steel and finished at HRC 58 to 60. Ask us which steels are in any blade, what hardness it holds, and whether it is stainless, and you will get a direct answer.
