Two edges mean you’re not stopping mid-task to resharpen, or reaching for a second tool when one side dulls.

At 1.40 kg and 27 inches, this has real weight and reach behind it — enough to put actual force into splitting hardwood logs or clearing thick brush, tasks the smaller axes in the collection aren’t sized for. The high-carbon steel blades are hardened to 58-60 HRC, holding an edge through repeated heavy use rather than rolling or chipping.
Rosewood and Leather
The rosewood handle is wrapped in leather for grip, which matters more here than on a shorter axe — with two hands and more leverage behind each swing, a slick handle is a real problem. Rosewood’s density holds up under that kind of repeated impact without cracking.

Is it functional or mainly for display? Both. It’s forged and hardened to the same real specs (HRC 58-60) as HM Knives’ working axes, so it’ll hold up to actual chopping and splitting — but its size and double-bladed design also make it a strong standalone display piece.
